My Background
Thank you for visiting and wanting to learn more about Beat It Drum Therapy. I hope we can travel this road together and find some harmony through the drums & percussion or other form of art expression.
My name is Jacey Brown. I am a Qualified Counsellor; Facilitator and Educator. I keep my National Police Clearance and Working with Children up to date.
I have worked in the Family & Domestic Violence sector for over 10 years, the Drug & Alcohol sector for 3 years, and have worked alongside families experiencing highly complex needs. Homelessness; ill mental health; post traumatic stress; affects on children; co-dependency; separation anxiety; fear; isolation and the struggle of building a new life after leaving an abusive relationship.
These experiences can shape our lives and the paths we choose to take. I love when my clients have their ‘lightbulb’ moment…….when they realise all that they have endured in life, is a lesson, an experience to gain insight from, and they can choose to use it to reach their full potential.
I am a certified facilitator for the evidenced based program ‘Bringing up Great Kids’, and a Diploma qualified Early Years Childcare Educator with a UK OFSTED Regulatory Body certification as an Outstanding provider. I hope to provide education to parents how our messages, words, beliefs & values impact our children, both positively and negatively. How we raise our children, shapes their future relationships.
I learned as a mum of teenagers, that being a ‘helicopter parent’ and trying to protect them, just pushes them further away. I learned my most valued lessons, from my own children.
Many years ago my very good friend and Psychic Medium told me to attend an event with African Drums. I went to a couple of small events, and loved the vibrational frequency of the bass, and how healing it was for me. , 25 years later, I was searching online for courses that might help me upskill my counselling knowledge, and came across DRUMBEAT ®. and Rhythm 2 Recovery ®. I booked on the facilitator training courses and I was hooked. I knew this was for me and Beat It Drum Therapy was born!
